Work doesn’t stay neatly at work.
A difficult situation at work rarely ends when you close your laptop or walk out the door. It can follow you home and affect your confidence, your sleep, your relationships, your family, your finances and the decisions you make.
But it isn’t only the difficult moments. The decisions we make about work can have a huge impact on the rest of our lives too.
Whether to take the job. What to negotiate before you sign. Whether to ask for more money or flexibility. When to push back, when to speak up and when it might be time to leave.
These are work decisions, but they’re life decisions too.
And when you’re the person inside the situation, it can be surprisingly hard to see it clearly. You can ask a friend, search online, ask AI or speak to your partner for the fifteenth time about the same email. But sometimes what you really want is someone who understands how workplaces actually work and knows the HR side of the equation.
Someone independent, experienced and outside your organisation.
That’s why I created Got HR?
What are you dealing with?
It doesn’t have to be a crisis. You might be making a good opportunity better, trying to understand something that feels off, preparing for a conversation you’d rather not have, or carrying around a work situation that has become much bigger in your head because you don’t know what it means yet.

Starting or changing something
New job? Contract to sign? Salary to negotiate? Promotion on the table? Stepping into a bigger role? Starting somewhere new and wanting to get it right?
got HR?

Something doesn’t feel right
Unexpected feedback? A difficult manager? Called into a meeting without much explanation? Suddenly being managed differently? Getting mixed messages?
got HR?

Work is changing
Returning from parental leave? Role changing? Restructure happening? Redundancy being discussed? Asked to work differently? Wondering whether what you signed up for is still the job you have?
got HR?

You just need another perspective
Can they do this? Am I overreacting? What would HR normally do here? Should I put this in writing? Is this worth raising?
got HR?
You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out. Tell me what’s happening, give me the backstory and, if it helps, show me the email, contract, meeting invite, offer or policy you’re trying to make sense of.
I’ll listen to it with an HR brain. That means I’m listening for the things you may not know to look for yourself: what stands out, what I’d want to understand more about, what may be happening on the organisational side, what is fairly normal workplace process and what isn’t.
Depending on what you bring, we might prepare for a conversation, pull apart an email before you respond, look at an offer and what may be worth negotiating, or work through a performance or restructure process so you understand the environment you’re walking into. Sometimes the most useful thing is simply having someone experienced look at the same situation and say, “Here’s what I’m seeing.”
I’m not there to automatically agree with you, tell you what you want to hear or make the decision for you. I’m there to give you something most employees rarely have access to: an experienced HR perspective that is entirely independent of their employer.

Hi, I’m Celia.
I’ve spent over 15 years in HR.
I’ve worked inside Australian and global organisations, partnering with employees, managers and leaders through the ordinary, complicated and occasionally very messy realities of working life.
Working inside organisations for that long teaches you things that don’t always appear in a policy. You start to understand how workplace decisions actually get made, how managers are likely to be thinking about a situation, what HR may be advising behind the scenes, where an organisation genuinely has constraints and where there may be room to move.
I’ve sat on enough sides of enough workplace situations to know that things are rarely as simple as one person being completely right and another being completely wrong. Context matters, judgement matters and understanding the whole picture matters.
That’s the perspective I bring to Got HR?

Your internal HR team can be an incredibly valuable resource, but they work for the organisation. Their role includes supporting employees while also advising managers, managing organisational risk, applying company policy and helping the business meet its obligations.
That isn’t a criticism of internal HR. It is simply the reality of the role.
Got HR? gives you something different. I’m not connected to your employer, I don’t need to manage the relationship with your manager afterwards and I’m not advising the business at the same time.
That means you can bring me the messy version: the context, the email you’ve drafted four times, the part you think you may have handled badly, or the option you’re considering but haven’t told anyone about yet.
You don’t need to perform while you explain it. You can just tell me what’s going on.
Got a small business?
Sometimes, you just need an HR person too.
Running a small business doesn’t necessarily mean you need an internal HR team or an ongoing monthly retainer. But once you employ people, eventually something comes up that makes you think, I have absolutely no idea what I’m supposed to do here.
It might be a performance issue, an employee concern, a difficult conversation, a flexible work request, your first hire, a change to someone’s role or a restructure. I provide practical HR support for small businesses that need experienced advice without importing layers of big-company process they don’t need.
Got work stuff? Let’s talk it through.
